It enables you to share design data easily (in EDWG format, or via an executable file) and efficiently with internal and external colleagues, customers, suppliers and so on. This free viewer has been around for twenty years, and is well known to 3D consultants. Markup API is available in IEModelMarkupControl interface. What’s the difference between Edrawings and the 3DEXPERIENCE 3D viewer? What is Edrawings, the free viewer from Dassault Systèmes?ĮDrawings is a visualization, communication and collaboration tool for 2D and 3D designers and engineers. It is also possible to perform measurements directly in the eDrawings viewer. This includes stamps, comments, lines, arcs, clouds etc. One of the cool eDrawings features is an ability to add markups to the files. This application not only allows to view, markup, measure and print SOLIDWORKS, DXF and DWG files without having SOLIDWORKS installed, but also provides API for a programmatic access to its features. Software can be downloaded from the eDrawingsViewer web-site. Good luck.ĮDrawings is a free SOLIDWORKS file viewer. Review the documentation again, if possible try to inspect / debug the concerned files let's hope somebody with experience on this viewer passes around. So yes the problem is on eDrawings side, and unfortunately I won't be able to help further. Is there a script that i can run in the backgroung to create these files. However in actual scenario I may need the publishing to happen in the background and then associate the eprt to the correpsonding prt. however for files created by software other than Solid Works I had to first publish those Cad files in edrawing formats say eprt, easm and so on and then attach this viewer to the file type. I was able to integrate the viewer with Aras. When I click on a Solidworks file, it appears to download from the vault but the eDrawing application doesn't open to view the file. I have installed eDrawings application and set up the viewer in ARAS as per KB-000105. I have installed V9.3 locally on my laptop and running it under SQL Server Express. We have documented this approach and placed the instructions to: One of them actually found a way to register eDrawings as a viewer in which case you do not need the MIME type. I am with ARAS in Europe and we've had this topic with our partners. The program is also able to compare the same location of a model in different views by identifying and matching geometry in various drawing views. The viewer provides dynamic viewing capabilities of 3D models as you automatically rotate through each drawing view. After opening your file, you can open individual views and arrange them however you want, regardless of how the views were previously arranged in the original drawing. These additional viewers would be for other file types, that are stored in a PDM vault and are not supported by the EModelViewer.ĮDrawings Viewer supports AutoCAD. The first step to add an additional viewer is to first install it. Solidworks edrawings viewer free downloadĪdditional viewers can be added, and existing ones removed. During the Installation of SOLIDWORKS PDM or SOLIDWORKS, eDrawings can be installed at the same time. For SOLIDWORKS files, eDrawings is the default viewer. SOLIDWORKS PDM can work with different viewers to preview files within a vault. Whether you are involved in commercial manufacture, purchasing, a maker or a student, eDrawings Viewer helps you to communicate, share and collaborate with high fidelity 3D data with an easily shareable lightweight file in its own viewer. For anyone who needs to view and interrogate 3D design data.
